Philosophy of research:
Research is an investigation, using any one of a number of methodologies, into religious phenomena.
How to get started:
Students encounter research ideas and methods in intermediate and advanced courses in theology and religious studies.
How to get connected with a faculty mentor:
Students can connect with their favorite teacher, DUS or Department Chair.
Earning credit for undergraduate research:
Only as part of for-credit courses.
Getting paid for research:
Yes. We have had students doing research for pay not only via HoyaWorks but other (often summer) programs. We have also provided research grants for students doing summer research overseas–often as preparation for a senior thesis.
Thesis or capstone research:
Students can conduct research for the senior thesis.
